Equipping Sisters to Serve with Confidence and Compassion
The Life Skills for Mission program strengthens the global reach of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ by equipping international Sisters with education and tools they may not have access to in their home countries. Participants are welcomed to the United States for continued formation, practical training, and spiritual enrichment—each essential to preparing them to better serve their local communities.
With academic coursework at nearby colleges and universities, Sisters acquire the knowledge and skills needed to enhance their ministries back home while gaining a deeper understanding of the Poor Handmaids’ global mission.
Although each Sister’s journey is unique, the program emphasizes personal development, spiritual formation, and intercultural learning. They are immersed in daily life with the PHJC community, mentored in faith, and supported throughout their educational experience.
The impact of this learning extends far beyond the classroom. When Sisters return to their home countries, they carry with them fresh insight, greater leadership capacity, and a renewed commitment to serve with compassion. Your gift helps provide tuition, housing, transportation, and other educational expenses for this vital ministry of formation and global solidarity.
