At The Center at Donaldson, greenhouse co-workers alongside PHJC Volunteers tend and harvest fresh, nutritious food in our greenhouses. The food supports our Sisters, residents, co-workers, guests, and local community. Using safe, sustainable organic methods, greenhouse co-workers renew and enrich the soil each season.

In 2023, our greenhouses yielded over 7,400 pounds of nutrient-dense crops, including various vegetables. We also raised poultry, providing 97 dozen eggs to our kitchen, and composted organic waste, generating 50 cubic yards of fertilizer.

With 12.4 percent of our region’s residents facing food insecurity and one in four children experiencing hunger, your support is crucial. Last year, PHJC Volunteers distributed nearly 250 pounds of produce to 145 neighbors in need, we are aiming to increase this by 15 percent in 2024. We can’t do it without donors like you.
