What is God's Call for You?

sr-josieSometimes people think that only priests, brothers or sisters have a vocation—yet all who are baptized are called to holiness, to serving God, which is our primary vocation. People live this call as single persons, as religious sisters and brothers, through married life or as priests. The challenge is to discover HOW God is calling you. We Poor Handmaid of Jesus Christ (PHJC) Sisters are an apostolic congregation of women religious. Together with Saint Katharina Kasper, our foundress, we can offer some clues to help you in your search.

Following God’s call requires a listening and generous heart. Saint Katharina Kasper had both. Saint Katharina’s inner vision urged her to give of herself. Through prayer she was attentive to the Spirit within and responded in service to her neighbors. Today PHJC Sisters continue in that spirit of listening attentively and responding courageously to God’s call.
