On May 1, 2007, West Associate Shirley Tarnowski passed away. Shirley was 74 years old and lived in Hammond. Shirley had been seriously ill for some time and was under the care of Hospice.

Shirley is survived by a sister and a sister-in-law; six nephews and three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Shirley had been a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church for 50 years where she also served eight years as secretary for the church.

Shirley’s first commitment as a PHJC Associate was on April 13, 1992. She is being recognized posthumously this summer for fifteen years as an Associate.
