On April 22, 2007, East One Associate Barbara Rogers passed away. She was 73 years old. She had been struggling with illness and was in the care of Hospice in her home. She was surrounded by her loving family at home at the time of her death.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard. They have two sons, Greg and Joe, and two daughters, Beth and Janet. Barbara is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Barbara was a member of Queen of Angels parish. Her Mass of Christian Burial was held in the church on April 26.

Barbara made her first commitment as an Associate of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ on May 19, 2001 in the hospital chapel of St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was recognized in 2006 for her fifth anniversary as an Associate.
