Sister Clarence Caspermeyer, PHJC passed away on May 1, 2011 at the Catherine Kasper Home, Donaldson, Indiana. She was born to John and Johanna Caspermeyer on August 12, 1930 in Quincy, Illinois. She entered the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ community and professed her first vows on June 25, 1951. She was celebrating her 60-year jubilee this year.

Sister Clarence ministered in health care as a nurse in various hospitals in Indiana and Illinois from 1951-1983. From 1984- 1998 she worked at the Day Star Program in Cairo, Illinois. She retired in 1998.

Sister Clarence with her pet guinea pig, SpikeSister Clarence loved animals and was often seen with her pet guinea pig, Spike. She would also bless the newborn calves each spring at the Ancilla Beef and Grain Farm.
