PHJC ministry throughout the world is blessed by so many persons who generously share their time and resources to bring hope to those in need. The 2009 Annual Report from the Development Office honors those who reached out their hands in loving concern to those who in need stretched out their hands asking for support. Right here at home donors generously supported Ministry Center activities through gifts to Maria Center, MoonTree Community, the retired Sisters, Ancilla College, Catherine's Cottage and Lindenwood Retreat and Conference Center. That support also rippled out to ministries in the surrounding area. Casa Catalina in Chicago,
Sojourner Truth House in Gary, and the Kitchen Table in Cairo fed thousands of men, women and children who did not know where they would find their next warm meal. The gifts for the needy gave neighbors in the surrounding area new hope. Infants and toddlers received loving care at Nazareth Home in East Chicago.
Just as a ripple continues moving further out so did benefactors' gifts. In Haiti health care, food, and resources for rebuilding lives were delivered to those still suffering from the ravages of the earthquake. In Mexico children were fed and taught, shelter was provided, women were given the opportunity to sell their hand-crafted products to support their children. Young women experiencing the charism of Blessed Catherine Kasper have been drawn to the PHJC Congregation. When caring hearts and willing hands meet, great things are accomplished.
