The Hammond Federal Courthouse was again the scene for hundreds of guests who gather on Thursday, October 18, to support the area’s foster children of Nazareth Home in East Chicago, Indiana.

Celebrating 10 years of fundraising on behalf of medically at-risk or victimized infants and toddlers, the Nazareth Home Gala Chef Tasting and Live and Silent Auction donated 95-percent of its proceeds to the licensed foster home.

Among the celebrity chefs at the Nazareth Home event who donated their time and talent were (l-r) Tim Healy of Ameristar Casino, Carl Lindskog of Amoré Ristorante, Jack Mix of Comfort’s Catering and Restaurant, and Randy Berg of Ciao Bella Ristorante. Founded in 1993, Nazareth Home is a ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and has provided 24-hour care for more than 160 children up to six years of age.

Featured at the gala were six celebrity Northwest Indiana chefs from Ameristar Casino, Amoré Ristorante, Ciao Bella Ristorante, Comfort’s Catering and Restaurant, The Jury Box/Atlas Catering, and Angela’s Pantry.

Auction items included a Lake Michigan fishing trip; a week in Santa Fe, New Mexico; four tickets to Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet “Nutcracker” performance; jewelry from Albert’s and James and Sons; and a Chicago Harbor Pointe Condominium trip.
