Valparaiso University Chorale Performed in Ancilla Chapel

The 48-voice ensemble being conducted by Dr. Christopher M. Cock.

The Valparaiso University Chorale performed a program in the Ancilla Domini Chapel on February 23, 2013.

The 48-voice ensemble was conducted by Dr. Christopher M. Cock. Dr. Cock holds the Phyllis and Richard Duesenberg chair of Lutheran music at VU. He is also director of the Bach Institute at Valparaiso University.

The Chorale performed a variety of sacred and secular music featuring Daniel Gawthrop’s robust Sing a Mighty Son, and classical works from Schütz and Bach.

Upcoming programs will be The Messiah by G. F. Handel on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the Ancilla Domini Chapel. The choir will be made up of Poor Handmaids and members of the surrounding community, with soloists from the Chicago Lyric Opera, and accompanied by members of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. The Messiah will be directed by Dr. David Lamb of Columbus, Indiana.
