The Hall of Honor Inductee, Sr. Virginia Kampwerth giving her Speech

Sister Virginia Kampwerth recently received a special honor - she and five other people were inducted into the Mater Dei Catholic High School Hall of Honor in Breese, Illinois during a banquet on May 6, 2011.

The Hall of Honor recognizes alumni and friends of Mater Dei who have lived their lives as witnesses of the Mater Dei mission. From 1972-1978, Sister Virginia taught German, Latin and Journalism at Mater Dei. She was back at the school serving as Assistant Principal for Academics from 1994-2005. She left Mater Dei when she was elected to the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Provincial Leadership team. Sister Virginia’s service to others extended beyond Mater Dei to all of her ministries.

Sister Virginia spoke from the heart at the banquet, “What I did was always done with great love and respect for everyone involved in Mater Dei High School. My continuing prayers are for this educational place of excellence to be here well into the future. God’s blessings for all of you!”

Congratulations Sister Virginia!
